We are very excited to introduce Janine Schmutz to you! In this interview with Out & About, she shares her day-to-day work as head of the art education team at the Fondation Beyeler and talks about how the Corona pandemic has affected her work and what double workload means for her as a working mother.

Janine Schmutz (*1975) studied Art History and History at the Universities of Basel and Freiburg im Breisgau. From 2003 to 2004 she worked as a research assistant at the Künstlerhaus Schloss Balmoral in Bad Ems, Germany. Since 2004 she’s been a member of the Fondation Beyeler’s Department of Art Education and in 2011 she became Head of the Department. She’s been active at the same time as a freelance curator, writer and publisher.
